Parent volunteers are an integral part of our community here at Waters. Friends of Waters organizes the school's many volunteer opportunities, providing a link between administrative and staff needs with parents seeking to get involved with school. We would love to meet you! Get into the mix of our vibrant school life, get to know other parents, and connect with the school’s fabulous staff. Before you join us... Make sure to become an approved CPS Volunteer
All field trip chaperones and participants in any school related volunteer activities must be CPS approved. It’s easy! Just complete the CPS volunteer application and bring your I.D. to the school office. In a few days you’ll receive an email from CPS declaring you to be officially approved to volunteer within CPS. Volunteer applications need to be renewed at the start of each school year.

Room Parents
Many teachers find it helpful to have a room parent, someone the teacher can communicate with directly to coordinate classroom needs, volunteers, special events, and more.
